(VIDEO) Barcelona Remember Messi, Highlights Best Goals vs. Borussia Dortmund
FC Barcelona is ready to take on Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. And ahead of this tough matchup, the club decided to fire up its fans with a video compilation featuring some of their best goals ever scored against the German giants.
Barcelona goals vs. Borussia Dortmund — Messi included
Of course, no compilation would be complete without Lionel Messi. The Argentine legend, who surely found the net against Dortmund during his time at Barça, features prominently.
“Get hyped for Wednesday’s Champions League showdown with every Barça goal vs Borussia Dortmund,” the club posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account alongside the video.
Also featured in the clip is Luis Suárez, now Messi’s teammate at Inter Miami — a reminder of the last time Barcelona won the Champions League, all the way back in the 2014-2015 season.
Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund – A heavyweight showdown
Unstoppable in 2025 and currently riding a 22-game unbeaten streak, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona hosts Dortmund this Wednesday at Montjuïc for the first leg of the UCL quarterfinals. The matchup features the two highest-scoring teams in the tournament so far: Barça with 32 goals, Dortmund with 28.
Barcelona hasn't reached the semifinals since their painful exit to Liverpool in 2019, but this season has reignited their Champions League dreams. They’re top of LaLiga, in the Copa del Rey final, and Raphinha leads the UCL scoring chart with 11 goals — followed by Dortmund’s Guirassy (10) and Lewandowski (9), who also has a strong track record against his former club.
Barça is undefeated in five meetings with Dortmund (3 wins, 2 draws), including a 3-2 away win in the group stage. Despite missing key players like Ter Stegen, Dani Olmo, and Gavi, the Catalans will rely on Szczesny, Pedri, De Jong, Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal to lead the charge.
Dortmund, meanwhile, will be without Schlotterbeck, Gross, and Sabitzer — all crucial in defense and build-up play. Striker Serhou Guirassy remains their biggest threat going forward.
