The Stars Continue to Shine in Doha
The Premier Padel tour continues to deliver top-tier action in Doha, and as expected, world number one pair Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia once again proved why they’re the dominant force on the circuit. This time, they got their revenge against rising stars Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger, who had stunned them earlier this year in Santiago. But in Doha’s Khalifa Tennis & Squash Complex, the outcome was different: a solid 6-4, 6-4 victory for the defending champions.
The key moments came at the end of each set, where Coello and Tapia secured the only breaks of the match. Their composure and experience outweighed the boldness of Cardona and Augsburger, a duo who continues to show that the future of padel is in good hands.
The Stars Continue to Shine in Doha
In the semifinals, Coello and Tapia will face Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas, who emerged victorious from a marathon match against Momo González and Jon Sanz. After nearly three hours of intense play, Nieto and Yanguas advanced with a tight 7-6, 4-6, 7-5 win, showcasing their resilience and endurance.

On the other side of the draw, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galán cruised past Edu Alonso and Álex Arroyo with a 6-1, 6-4 win. Their semifinal opponents will be Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini, who battled through three sets to defeat Javi Garrido and Martín Di Nenno 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
High Stakes in the Women's Draw
The women’s bracket is also heating up, with thrilling matchups in the semifinals. On one side, tournament favorites Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay —champions in Gijón, Cancún, and Miami— will take on surprise contenders Alejandra Salazar and Verónica Virseda, who pulled off a big upset by eliminating Marta Ortega and Sofía Araújo in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 6-4).
Meanwhile, world No. 1s Paula Josemaría and Ari Sánchez are looking to defend their 2024 title in Qatar. To reach the final, they’ll have to get past Bea González and Claudia Fernández, who advanced with a commanding 6-3, 6-3 win over Lucía Sainz and Patty Llaguno.
The Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel is heading toward its grand finale, and the stage is set for the world’s best to leave their mark on the tour.
