Jake Paul Challenges the Son of Mexico’s Boxing Legend
‘The Ring Magazine’ revealed that Jake Paul might fight Chávez Jr this summer
Just a few months ago, influencer Jake Paul shook up the boxing world by challenging a retired legend like Mike Tyson. Now, history might repeat itself this coming summer… but this time, with the son of a Mexican boxing legend. According to ‘The Ring Magazine,’ Julio César Chávez Jr may have agreed to step back into the ring to fight Jake Paul.

Jake Paul vs Chávez Jr this summer?
As of today, this hypothetical boxing match between Jake Paul and Chávez Jr is still just speculation… but it’s gaining traction day by day, as explained in ‘The Ring Magazine.’ Still, it’s a potential fight that’s very much in the early stages. In fact, no official date has yet been set for the bout.
It was journalist Mike Coppinger who first reported this information, which was later published in ‘The Ring Magazine’: “Jake Paul is ready to fight Julio César Chávez Jr in a cruiserweight match this summer,” was the statement posted by ‘The Ring Magazine’ on social media, based on reports from various sources linked to Mike Coppinger himself.
Chávez Jr has already appeared on a Jake Paul fight card
Just like Mike Tyson was far from his prime when he stepped into the ring to fight Jake Paul, many had also considered Julio César Chávez Jr retired… until he returned in 2024 to face Uriah Hall on the undercard of the bout between Jake Paul and Perry. That night, he defeated Uriah Hall by unanimous decision.
Until then, Chávez Jr had gone nearly three years without stepping into a boxing ring, since his last fight on December 18, 2021, when he defeated Peruvian boxer David Zegarra. We’ll see, then, what kind of physical shape the son of Mexico’s great boxing legend is in—if his fight against Jake Paul, who only has one loss to Tommy Fury since he first entered the ring, actually comes to fruition.
