Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay Dominate the Women’s Final in Doha
Once again, Premier Padel delivered high-level excitement at the Ooredoo Qatar Major, where the sport’s biggest stars shone brightly. This edition, held at the Khalifa Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha, confirmed the dominance of the world’s top-ranked pair while also showcasing new contenders determined to reach the top of the women’s rankings.
In the men’s draw, the current FIP ranking leaders, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, proved once again why they are the most feared duo on the circuit. After winning the season opener in Riyadh, the Spanish pair claimed victory in a tough final against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galán. The match started poorly for Coello and Tapia, but after recovering a break in the first set and winning it in a tiebreak, they completely took control. They sealed the title with a strong 7-6, 6-2 performance. Their chemistry and individual brilliance were key to lifting their second trophy of the year. “I’m so happy to win again and thankful to Agus,” said Coello, while Tapia thanked his team and fans back in his hometown, Catamarca, for their support.
An Unstoppable Duo: Delfi and Gemma Make Their Mark on the Women’s Circuit
The real surprise — and confirmation — came in the women’s final. Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay were crowned champions after defeating world No.1s Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría in a match defined by grit and tactical brilliance. The top-ranked pair led 4-1 in both sets, but Delfi and Gemma mounted impressive comebacks to win 6-4, 6-4.

For Delfi Brea, the victory marks her first Major title. For Gemma Triay, it represents another milestone — winning a Major with her third different partner, having previously claimed titles with Marta Ortega and Claudia Fernández.
“This tournament was really important because it awarded points equivalent to two P1s,” said Triay. Brea couldn’t hide her joy: “It’s an unforgettable day. We were a real team both on and off the court.”
With this new trophy — their fourth in 2025 — Delfi and Gemma are now firmly established as one of the strongest duos on tour and are getting closer and closer to dethroning the current No.1s.
