Brannagan screamer earns crucial point at Cardiff
Cameron Brannagan's stunning 79th-minute equaliser for Oxford United denied Aaron Ramsey a win on his bow as Cardiff City's interim boss as the sides shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
It was Oxford's only attempt on target, but it was an absolute beauty as a free-kick routine teed the ball up for Brannagan, who fired from long-distance with immense power and hit the top corner with precision.
The draw leaves Cardiff on 43 points, level with bottom-placed Plymouth Argyle, which overcame Frank Lampard's Coventry City 3-1.
It keeps Oxford out of trouble for now, although its 49 points are only three clear of the relegation zone, and fourth-placed Sunderland is up next before a final day fixture against mid-table Swansea City.
