A public release of tickets for the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight sold out in under 60 seconds.

Up to 1,000 tickets for the May 2 showpiece went on sale at 15:00 US Eastern Standard time, and did not last until 15:01.

The Los Angeles Times reported only 500 tickets would be put on public sale. The prices for those tickets were $1,500, $2,500, $3,500, $5,000 and $7,500.

There was a dispute that delayed the ticket sales for a while, but those issues were resolved on Wednesday.

Closed circuit tickets will be available later on Thursday. 

Those will be $150 apiece and fans who purchase the tickets can view the fight at the MGM, Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, The Signature, Mandalay Bay, Delano, Monte Carlo, Mirage, New York-New York, Luxor, Excalibur and Circus Circus in Las Vegas. 

There will be about 35,000 and 50,000 closed circuit tickets made available.

MGM Grand holds up to 16,800 seats and the remainder of the tickets are owned by Mayweather Promotions, Top Rank and the MGM Grand.
