Liverpool have confirmed that boss Jurgen Klopp is to leave at the end of the season. In a short statement via their website the Reds confirmed that the German boss was parting ways with the team.
"Jürgen Klopp has announced his decision to step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the current season, having informed the club’s ownership of his wish to leave his position when the 2023-24 campaign comes to a close."
Klopp, 56 added that he feels that he owes Liverpool fans the truth and explained his reasoning. “It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again."
Liverpool currently sit top in the Premier League with a five-point gap over Manchester City.
