Cristiano Ronaldo Wants to Win Another EURO
Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo stated that his team needs to stay grounded but should dream of winning the EURO, as they have the talent and are ready to replicate their 2016 triumph.
"It's good to stay grounded but with our minds in the sky, dreaming of the EURO. We dream and we are ready," he said in an interview with the state broadcaster RTP after the friendly match between Portugal and Ireland held in Aveiro (central Portugal).
When asked if he sees Portugal becoming European champions like in 2016, the Madeira-born forward said they need to take it "step by step" but "dreaming is free."
"We have the talent, but as I often say, talent needs to be worked on, nothing is given to you. And the team is ready to work," he asserted.
The Portuguese team won 3-0 against Ireland, with two goals from Ronaldo himself, who after two decades playing for his national team, assured that he still feels "pride and passion" in every game.
João Félix, who scored the other goal of the match, also sees a chance to win the EURO.
"We are aware of the qualities we have. We are a great team with a lot of talent and combine that with effort and hard work, we know how to suffer. But I believe we will be happy at the end of this EURO," he said.
The Barcelona player insisted that they are going to "fight for the title" and confirmed that he is 100% available to be a starter.
"I always have to give my best to help the team, and that's what I'm going to do in the EURO," he added.
