Rodri Takes Swipe at Real Madrid Following Champions League Exit
The Manchester City midfielder stated that he only saw one team playing on the field and that the Cityzens deserved to advance.
Spanish midfielder Rodri Hernández, of Manchester City, lamented his team's elimination against Real Madrid in penalties, as he believed his team deserved to "progress" to the Champions League semi-finals.
"It's worse to try to find an explanation. This competition doesn't understand merit. The only chance they had, they scored, and we were chasing the game the whole time. We didn't expect them to be so defensively compact. We had the feeling that penalties suited them, and it ended up that way, as usual. We have to get up and find the motivation that we have things to fight for," he analyzed on Movistar+.
"We had chances, and if we were more precise, we would have won the game, but this competition has these things. They reach penalties, score them, and take the tie, which, in my opinion, we deserved to progress in," he added.
