Joelson Fernandes sent a scare through the home crowd with a goal in the 52nd minute, putting Hatayspor ahead. However, Mario Icardi equalized from the penalty spot in the 80th minute.

The dramatic turnaround came in the 90+1' minute when Michy Batshuayi scored a decisive header, securing the victory and earning Galatasaray their first three points of the season.
