João Félix Confirms Interest from Inter Milan but Chose AC Milan
João Félix, the Portuguese forward recently loaned to AC Milan from Chelsea, confirmed on Monday during his official presentation that Inter Milan had shown interest in signing him. However, his decision was already made: he wanted to wear the 'rossonera' shirt.
"I’ve had a fantastic week with two wins and my first goal at San Siro. I knew Milan was a great club, but it still surprised me. When you arrive here, you understand why it’s one of the biggest in Europe," said the Portuguese forward.
Félix, who will wear the No. 79 shirt in honor of his beginnings at Benfica, admitted the interest from Inter, but he never wavered in his choice. "My agent spoke to me about Inter, but I was already negotiating with Milan, and in my mind, there was only Milan. I had already decided to come here," he said.
His Desire to Stay at Milan
The forward, whose loan expires in June, made it clear that he would like to stay at the club beyond that date.
"For now, I’m on loan until June; we’ll see how things go. I’m enjoying everything: the club, the people, the facilities... My family and I have been very well received, and I want to stay where I feel good. In football, things can change, but if there’s a chance to stay, I would like to do so," he added.
Additionally, he spoke about his admiration for Kaká, the Milan legend, with whom he has been compared several times.
"My favorite player has always been Kaká. I spoke to him in the past and met him in the U.S., where we did an interview together. For me, he’s an idol, but I can’t compare myself to him, although I’d also like to make history at Milan," he concluded.
