EXCLUSIVE: Venezuela Captain Tomas Rincon Eyes Premier League Move
Venezuela captain Tomas Rincon could yet still make a move to the Premier League.
Venezuela captain Tomas Rincon has left the door open for a move to the Premier League.
The Genoa midfielder was the subject of an offer from Crystal Palace over the summer, but Rincon ended up staying in Serie A after a move failed to materialize.
"In the summer we received several bids for Tomas, and each one was evaluated to see where would suit him best. Crystal Palace were the team closest to the signing, but ultimately no deal was made," said Rincon's agent Norman Capuozzo, speaking exclusively to beIN SPORTS.
However, there is belief in Rincon's camp that a transfer could be made in January, and the player is perfectly suited to England.
"Tomas has expressed to me his interest in going to the Premier League. That is why in the winter market, we are prepared to handle any offers that may arrive."
Rincon, 28, has been a key player since joining Genoa in 2014 and is currently captaining Venezuela in their CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying campaign games.
La Vinotinto next play on Tuesday against Brazil, a game which will be televised live on beIN SPORTS at 8.30PM ET.
