The New MLS Star: Olivier Giroud
The veteran Olivier Giroud, France's all-time leading scorer with 57 goals, will leave his current club, Milan, at the end of this season to join the Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS, according to French media reports.
At 37 years old, the French forward, who has been capped 131 times for his country, will complete his third season at Milan, where he has played 121 matches and scored 46 goals. Previously, he had a lengthy stint in the Premier League, with six seasons at Arsenal and four at Chelsea, with whom he won the Champions League in 2021.
In the French Ligue 1, Giroud played for Montpellier, where he won the title in 2012, as well as Tours, Istres, and Grenoble.
According to French media, Giroud would sign a free contract until December 2025 with the Galaxy, once his contract with Milan expires in June 2024.
In the California-based club, Giroud would join forces with another French football legend, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, the captain who lifted the World Cup in 2018.
