Messi Returns and Busquets Injured in Inter Miami's Defeat to Vissel Kobe
The Argentine star returned after overcoming his muscle discomfort. The Spanish midfielder, on the other hand, had to be substituted after 25 minutes.
Inter Miami suffered another defeat on their preseason tour. This time, they fell to Vissel Kobe in the penalty shootout after the regulation 90 minutes ended in a goalless draw. This marks the fourth loss for Tata Martino's team in this preseason, with only one victory and one draw.
Lionel Messi, who missed the previous match in Hong Kong due to muscle discomfort, played the last half-hour of the game. He was the positive aspect of the match; the negative was Sergio Busquets.
The Spanish midfielder sustained an injury just 25 minutes into the game after an accidental action that injured his ankle. He immediately requested a substitution, and while the medical report is pending, there is concern that he may be sidelined for several weeks.
Luis Suárez, plagued by knee problems, was also able to participate, although in his case, he started and played for 75 minutes in the match against the Japanese.
The match was decided in a penalty shootout where the Japanese team showed more accuracy. Messi did not take any penalties for Inter Miami, who scored the first three but missed the last three (Taylor, Allen, and Gregore).
