Lens flexes its muscles by defeating Angers in Ligue 1
Lens kicked off their new Ligue 1 season with a 1-0 win over Angers, thanks to a goal from Wesley Said.
After a disappointing last season where Lens missed out on UEFA Europa League and Champions League spots, William Still's squad came out strong in their first match.
With 60% possession and twice as many shots on target as their opponents, Lens found the back of the net in the 28th minute through Wesley Said, scoring the only goal of the game.
This victory puts Lens in sixth place on the table with three points, while Angers drops to 14th with no points.
