Joao Neves: Iniesta Is His Idol and Now Shines for PSG
Joao Neves' arrival at PSG has been a great success, one of Luis Enrique's notable signings. This year, Neves revealed that his idol is Andrés Iniesta.
While the Portuguese has yet to score, he has been involved in 40% of the goals with four assists in two Ligue 1 matches.
First, in the 85th minute against Le Havre, Neves made a crucial assist from the left side to Ousmane Dembélé in a match that was tied until then, making this pass worth three points for Luis Enrique's team.
Later, in the 86th minute, from midfield, Neves delivered a precise pass to Barcola, leading to a great finish by the Frenchman.
For the second round of Ligue 1, Joao Neves started again, and his impact was immediate.
In a play developed in midfield, the Portuguese once again set up Bradley Barcola (his second connection of the season) to open the scoring against Montpellier in the 4th minute.
Then, in the 24th minute, Neves demonstrated his vision by connecting with Marco Asensio for the second goal of the match.
This was Neves' fourth assist since joining Paris Saint-Germain. The young Portuguese player has become central to the team's play, and Luis Enrique must be very satisfied with his contribution, surpassing even the three assists Neymar achieved in his first two matches with PSG.
