Strasbourg made a strong home debut in the new Ligue 1 season, thrashing French giants Stade Rennes 3-1, with Brazilian wonderkid Andrey Santos stealing the show with a goal.

The scoring started with the Brazilian, former Chelsea FC player Andrey Santos, finding the net in the 23rd minute.

The second goal came early in the second half, with Emmanuel Emegha striking in the 48th minute. Rennes tried to come back with a goal from Ludovic Blas in the 57th minute, but an own goal in the 87th minute crushed their hopes.

With this result, Strasbourg moves up to fifth place in the Ligue 1 standings with four points, while Rennes drops to eighth with just three points.
