A lifelong Cuervo

The San Lorenzo de Almagro community is mourning the loss of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known globally as Pope Francis, who died at 88 in Casa Santa Marta in the Vatican. The club shared a heartfelt message on social media: “He was never just another supporter—he was one of us. Farewell, thank you, and see you in eternity!”

The passing of Pope Francis leaves an enormous void within the San Lorenzo de Almagro family and in the hearts of millions around the globe. His life, marked by humility, faith, and an unshakable love for the “Ciclón,” will be remembered forever.
