Real Madrid have confirmed Luka Modric picked up a knee injury, and it is suspected the midfielder could miss six weeks of action.

Modric, who picked up the injury during the win over Malaga, underwent tests this morning and the outcome confirmed the early indications. The midfielder is suffering from a medial collateral ligament sprain on his right knee.

The duration of the lay-off has yet to be confirmed by the club, but talk is a six week spell on the sidelines for the midfielder is likely.
