According to the BBC, Real Madrid generates an average of $7.8 million in ticket sales for every home match at the Bernabéu. This figure does not include additional revenue from food, beverages, and merchandise sold inside the stadium.
Real Madrid’s Revenue Surge in the 2024-2025 Season
Real Madrid closed the first half of the 2024-2025 season with a significant increase in revenue, largely driven by non-sporting events held at the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to financial reports accessed by Palco23, the club generated $640 million in revenue as of December 31, 2024, surpassing the $500 million recorded in the same period the previous season. This growth led to a net profit of nearly $32.5 million, up from $25.5 million in 2023-2024.
Record-Breaking Revenue from Stadium and Memberships
Among the club’s key revenue streams, earnings from stadium-related activities and memberships reached $162.5 million, reflecting an increase of over $54 million compared to December 2023. Additionally, revenue from friendly matches and official competitions rose to $117 million, up from $101 million the previous year.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s commercial and marketing sector experienced a 38.88% increase, reaching $270 million. However, broadcasting rights revenue saw a slight dip, dropping to $88.5 million from $100 million in December 2023.
Increased Expenses and Santiago Bernabéu Expansion
Real Madrid also saw a rise in operational costs, which totaled $227 million, nearly $75 million more than in the same period last season. The main expenses included:
External services: $131.5 million
General management costs: $76.5 million
Travel expenses: $10 million
Taxes: $4 million
Additionally, under the leadership of Florentino Pérez, the club aims to expand Santiago Bernabéu’s seating capacity by 5,000 seats, increasing its total capacity to approximately 85,000 spectators. This expansion aligns with FIFA’s requirements for hosting the 2030 World Cup final, which will be jointly hosted by Spain, Morocco, and Portugal.
