Real Madrid Extends Lucas Vázquez's Contract
The day after renewing Luka Modric, the white club announced that Lucas Vázquez will remain with the team for another season.
Real Madrid officially announced on Thursday the renewal of Lucas Vázquez's contract until June 30, 2025, after which he will complete his tenth season with the club.
The contract extension was finalized weeks ago, as the player even began preparing for the season on Monday under the orders of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti.
However, it wasn't made official until Thursday, with the signing of the contract alongside Florentino Pérez at the Valdebebas Sports City offices.
Lucas Vázquez will continue for another season at Real Madrid after a 2023-2024 campaign in which, as Dani Carvajal's substitute, he played a significant role in the team's success, contributing to winning the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, and the Champions League.
In 38 matches and 1,784 minutes, he scored three goals and provided eight assists, delivering his best performance in the second-leg Clasico against FC Barcelona, where he scored once and provided two assists.
Additionally, he started another major match: the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Bayern Munich.
The Spanish player joined Real Madrid in 2007 at 16 years old and played in all the youth categories, from Juvenil C to Castilla in 2014, after which he was loaned to Espanyol, earning his return with an impressive performance in La Liga.
In his nine seasons wearing the Real Madrid jersey, he has won 21 titles: 5 Champions Leagues, 4 Club World Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
In total, Lucas Vázquez has played 349 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 36 goals. He has also played nine matches for the Spanish national team.
