Barcelona Announces the Severity of Marc Casadó's Injury and Expected Recovery Time
Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó will be out for two months due to a partial tear of the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. The club confirmed on Tuesday that the player will follow a conservative recovery treatment.
The Catalan player sustained the injury last Sunday during the LaLiga EA Sports match, where Barça won 2-4 against Atlético de Madrid at the Metropolitano. After undergoing further medical tests, the club confirmed the severity of the injury.
Absence from National Team and Recovery
Casadó had to leave the field in the 67th minute of the match against Atlético de Madrid, which also prevented him from joining the Spain national team call-up for the playoff match against Netherlands for a spot in the Nations League Final Four.
In recent matches, the midfielder had seen reduced involvement in Hansi Flick’s system, partly due to the recovery of Dutchman Frenkie de Jong. If the recovery timeline is followed, Casadó could return for the final matches of the season.
