Ancelotti: "Gil Manzano Got it Wrong; We're Annoyed About Bellingham Red Card."
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed after the latest controversial play in the Valencia-Real Madrid match that what happened at the end "is something unprecedented" that had never happened to him before: "After the action, we were annoyed by Bellingham's red card because he didn't say any insults".
"There's not much to say, something unprecedented happened. After the rebound, we had possession, and the play should have stopped when Valencia gained possession of the ball. If he blows the whistle when the goalkeeper rejects the ball… But he let it continue, we had possession, and I think he made a mistake," he said in a press conference after the draw (2-2).
Ancelotti expressed concern about what the referee would write in the report about Bellingham's red card because he stated that he didn't say any insults, but in English, he said it was a 'fucking goal'.
Regarding Vinícius, he said, "he played a good game, was decisive, more effective in the area than outside, because Foulquier played an outstanding game. He scored two very important goals for us".
Finally, Ancelotti said, "there's some doubt in my feeling that we could lose because we played very badly in the first half and in the end, we could come back. I'm stuck in the middle." Additionally, he added, "the team is still hot and angry, which is normal. But we have another important match on Wednesday. There are good things and things to improve".
"It was a very complicated match for many reasons; it's a strong opponent, well-organized, aggressive, it caused us many problems in the first half, but we were able to get back into the game. We could have won it, but again with the other draws, we have to keep going. A draw in a difficult field like Valencia can be an important point," he concluded.
