Luis Suárez: "What Bothers Me Most is the Mocking"
The Uruguayan forward didn't like the behavior of the Colombian players in the Copa América semifinal. He warned that "everything comes back."
Uruguayan forward Luis Suárez addressed the tension with Colombian players at the end of the Copa América semifinal, stating that "what bothers me the most is the way they mock."
Uruguayans and Colombians clashed after the Colombian team eliminated Uruguay with a 1-0 victory in a match played in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday.
"There are always clashes, laughs, words, whatever. But what bothers me the most is the way they mock and celebrate, it makes no sense," Suárez said in statements in the mixed zone.
"We eliminated Brazil and none of us walked past any Brazilian player. On the contrary, we went to greet them, we're colleagues on the field, we know the suffering of a defeat," said Suárez.
"Walking past a fellow professional like that looks bad, but the one above sees everything and everything comes back," he added.
The Inter Miami number 9 also said, "As a group, we need to rise, stay strong, stay united. We will often face situations like this," he assured.
The 37-year-old Uruguayan forward has played a secondary role in Marcelo Bielsa's team during this Copa América.
