Erling Haaland, Manchester City forward, is a doubt for Saturday's match against Brentford following the recent death of a close friend.

Ivar Eggja, who was the godfather at Haaland's father's wedding, passed away this week. Haaland paid tribute to Eggja on social media, calling him a "legend" and stating he cannot "find the words" to describe how much he meant to him.

"It has been a very tough time for him and his family," Pep Guardiola said in a press conference on Friday. "It's very sad news, and our thoughts are with them. We'll see if he's mentally and physically ready to play tomorrow."

Haaland is currently the Premier League Golden Boot leader with seven goals in three matches and could become the first player since 1946 to score three consecutive hat-tricks in English football this weekend.
