According to the club's official statement, Ronaldo fell ill and, after being assessed by the team's medical staff, was diagnosed with the infection. This requires him to remain in rest at home, meaning he will not travel to Iraq for the scheduled match.

This absence is a blow for Al Nassr, who will start their campaign without their captain and key player, at a time when the team was aiming for a strong start in the continental competition.
