VIDEO | The Incredible Goal Ronaldinho Scored Against England in the 2002 World Cup!
The 2002 Brazil squad is remembered by many as one of the greatest national teams in history. Alongside their beautiful style of play, often referred to as "Joga Bonito," they boasted a lineup of superstar players.
Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho, known as "The Three Rs," formed a formidable attacking trio that led Brazil to win their fifth FIFA World Cup in Korea-Japan 2002. During the tournament, they faced a tough challenge in the Quarterfinals against England.
In the 23rd minute, Michael Owen put England ahead, but just before the end of the first half, Rivaldo equalized the game. However, it was in the second half where the magic happened.
After Brazil was awarded a free-kick, Ronaldinho stepped up to take a shot from several meters away that goalkeeper David Seaman failed to stop. The goal left everyone in awe, including Luiz Felipe Scolari, the Brazil coach, who couldn't believe what he had just witnessed.
