Unai Emery Signs New Five-Year Contract with Aston Villa
Aston Villa announced on Monday that they have agreed to a new five-year contract with Unai Emery after the Spanish coach led the team to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 41 years, securing fourth place in the Premier League.
The Basque manager arrived at Villa Park in October 2022, with Birmingham's premier club just three points above the relegation zone in the English league.
"We are building something special here at Aston Villa with Unai at the center, and we are delighted that he has signed a new deal with the club until 2029," said club president Nassef Sawiris in a statement.
Emery expressed his happiness about taking this step and assuming the responsibility of leading one of England's historic clubs, which boasts a European Cup (1982), a European Super Cup (1983), and seven league titles in its trophy cabinet.
