FC Barcelona is continuing to plan for next season, with strengthening the squad being a top priority for sporting director Deco. Although it's still early to make definitive decisions due to financial fair play restrictions, the club continues to receive signals of interest from notable players eager to join the project. Two of the most prominent names currently on the radar are Rafael Leao from Milan and Jonathan David from Lille, both of whom have expressed their desire to join the Blaugrana.

Leao, 25, has gained increasing attention from Barcelona. The club highly values his potential due to his ability to break defenses with speed and dribbling. Although he has shown some inconsistency, Barcelona believes he could thrive under Hansi Flick’s guidance. Moreover, his relationship with Milan coach Paulo Fonseca is not ideal, which could facilitate his departure. Having spent six seasons in Italy, Leao is ready for a move to a club with bigger aspirations and an ambitious project, like Barcelona, especially with their stadium being renovated. Leao’s price could be around €80 million, although Milan has already amortized his €50 million transfer fee from 2019.

On the other hand, Jonathan David, 24, is a prolific goal scorer who is also being closely monitored by Barcelona. His goal tally at Lille makes him an interesting option to reinforce the attack, especially considering that Robert Lewandowski, the only true striker in the squad, is already 36 years old. David also has a contract expiring soon, which could make his transfer more affordable, although Barcelona would need to negotiate a signing bonus. However, the club does not see his acquisition as urgent as Leao’s, given Lewandowski's good form and his renewed contract until 2026.

Both players are being closely monitored, and the final decision will largely depend on how the season unfolds. If Barcelona achieves their sporting goals, the need for reinforcements could grow, prompting the club to target high-level signings to continue growing and competing for the most important titles.
