The Incredible Numbers of Messi's Contract with Inter Miami
A year after Lionel Messi's arrival at Inter Miami, the signing continues to generate discussion, as the American club had to make a lucrative proposal for the Argentine to choose MLS over Saudi Arabian football.
Now, Jorge Mas, owner of Inter Miami, has revealed to Forbes more details about Messi's contract with the pink team, which include some very interesting insights.
It is ensured that Messi will earn between 50 and 60 million dollars guaranteed per year, in addition to potentially earning extra income through a distribution deal between Adidas and Apple.
But the most striking aspect of this contract is the "David Beckham" clause, which allows Messi to take over the club when he retires from the field, without the need for a purchase!
This contract runs until 2025, although there is talk of an additional optional year if the former Barcelona star decides so. So, we'll have Messi for at least one more year, and why not?, for two more years.
