This year's edition of the Globe Soccer Awards gave us a lot to talk about, especially with the big winner of the night, Al Nassr's forward, the Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. He scooped up two awards, one of them triumphing over Messi.

The first award the Portuguese star received was for Best Player in the Middle East, along with the Maradona award, honoring his long career and accumulated successes. Cristiano Ronaldo's second award of the night was for Best Male Player chosen by the Fans, surpassing Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, among others.

Ronaldo thanked his teammates and coaches, inviting the world to keep getting into football to contribute to the sport's growth. Despite losing out in the best male player category to Erling Haaland, the Portuguese star was the standout at the gala in the Middle East.
