The Argentine National Team Has Earned Nearly $80 Million in Prizes
The Argentine national team has accumulated almost $80 million in prize money over the past three years, a figure that could increase this Sunday if they triumph over Colombia in the Copa América final at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The successful cycle of the "Scaloneta" has been accompanied by significant financial gains since they won the 2021 Copa América in Brazil.
Back then, their 1-0 victory over Brazil in the Maracanã final earned them around $14 million: $10 million for winning the title, $2 million for participating, and $2 million for advancing past the group stage and quarterfinals.
A year and a half later, their victory at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, after defeating France in the penalty shootout in Doha, brought them $42 million, along with an extraordinary $10 million prize awarded by CONMEBOL "to incentivize and support South American football."
Most recently, Lionel Scaloni's team has secured $11 million by reaching the Copa América final.
