Sven-Göran Eriksson Bids Farewell with Serenity: “Life is Also About Death, I Had a Good Life'"
At 76 years old, Sven-Göran Eriksson, the legendary Swedish coach, has been facing the toughest challenge of his life after being diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. With the serenity and realism that have characterized him throughout his career, Eriksson has publicly accepted his condition and the little time he has left.
Despite the gravity of his situation, the former head coach has chosen to face his fate with his head held high, reflecting a life philosophy in which the end is a natural part of the journey, as he shared in an emotional documentary on Prime Video:
“Life is also about death; you have to learn to accept it. Hopefully, in the end, people will say, ‘Yes, he was a good man,’ but not everyone will say that. I had a good life,” Eriksson acknowledged.
“Don’t have regrets. Smile. Thank you to all the coaches, players, and fans. It’s been fantastic. Take care of yourselves and your lives. And live it! Goodbye,” the Swede bid farewell with this poignant message that inspires admiration for his composure.
