"I love you, Real Madrid," Rodrygo posted on his social media, kissing "La Orejona," his second Champions League trophy with Real Madrid, expressing his affection for the club after a week of controversy surrounding his statements before the Wembley showdown.

"Anything can happen," he had said during Real Madrid's media day at their training ground before the final. "I have a contract here, but the years I've been here have been a pleasure for me," he added, fueling rumors that intensified when an interview he gave weeks earlier, published three days before the final, pointed to Manchester City as "the best team in the world."

After starting in the final and winning the Champions League, Rodrygo clarified the situation and shared his perspective on the Wembley pitch.

"The video was taken advantage of, considering the moment, with the Champions League final coming up. If you watch the video, the interview is all cut, it doesn't show the end of the interview. When asked if I'll spend my whole life at Real Madrid, I said I don't have a way of knowing that. I said I want to be here forever, but I don't have a way of knowing," he explained.

"In the interview, I said I still have a contract," he emphasized. "When I say it was a pleasure to be here all these years, I don't say it because I'm leaving but because it has been a pleasure for me. It's still a dream, I have a contract, and I'm sure I'll stay," he concluded.
