Rüdiger: "We Can Bring Real Madrid's Killer Instinct to Germany"
Antonio Rüdiger, Real Madrid defender and part of Germany’s national team, said after joining the "Mannschaft" that they can bring the "killer instinct" of Real Madrid to the German squad, referring to their potential lack of scoring.
The newly crowned European champion compared the two teams as "different pairs of shoes," noting that the national team has "a very good system that suits" their style of play but could benefit from that scoring efficiency.
"Our last match against Ukraine was super good. It's been a long time since we saw such a good 0-0, but what was missing were the goals, and that's what we can learn from Real Madrid," the center-back said.
Rüdiger, who just joined the German team after his club's Champions League victory, mentioned that ahead of the EURO, "the expectations in our country are huge," and noted that the upcoming friendly against Greece this Friday will be "an important test" for "confidence" and "exciting" the fans.
"We have to stay humble. We all know what happened in past tournaments. The journey here had its ups and downs. The key is to play a very good first match and then see what happens in the rest of the tournament," concluded the Real Madrid defender.
