Pedri's Words to Gavi: "He Deserves This Moment"
Pedri has praised his Barcelona teammate Gavi, who made his long-awaited return in the 5-1 victory over Sevilla after being sidelined for 11 months due to injury. Pedri described Gavi as "a hard worker" who fully deserved the ovation he received at the Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys on Sunday.
"We have to thank Gavi for everything he's done. He's a great guy, a hard worker who deserves this moment. You can see that the fans love him, and we all love him very much," Pedri said.
Pedri also emphasized the importance of the victory ahead of crucial upcoming matches against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, noting that the team leaves with "three points and good feelings."
The midfielder explained that he had to adjust his position on the field due to Eric García's injury during the warm-up and expressed satisfaction after scoring the second goal of the match.
"The coach mentioned before the game that they leave space at the edge of the box, and I was fortunate to shoot and score. At halftime, we talked about keeping the same approach. Flick asks us to keep a clean sheet and stay focused until the last minute, but today, it wasn't possible," Pedri concluded.
