MLS Breaks Attendance Records
The MLS has announced that it has broken its regular season attendance record, with a total of 11 million spectators in stadiums.
In a statement, the league highlighted that this figure surpasses the previous record set during the 2023 season, which saw 10,900,804 fans. The MLS also pointed out that one full matchday remains to be played on October 19, along with two other matches this week. As a result, the final attendance tally is expected to rise even further, with 16 matches left to account for.
Additionally, the MLS noted that the average attendance so far has been 23,240 spectators per game.
After winning the MLS Supporters' Shield last week, awarded to the best team in the regular season, Lionel Messi's Inter Miami enters the MLS playoffs as the favorite to win the MLS Cup.
The playoffs, set to begin on October 25, will feature other top contenders such as Columbus Crew with Colombian star Juan Camilo 'Cucho' Hernández, Cincinnati with Argentine Luciano Acosta, LA Galaxy with Spain's Riqui Puig, and Los Angeles FC (LAFC), featuring French stars Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud, as well as Mexico's Carlos Vela.
