One of Lionel Messi's greatest loves in life is Football Club Barcelona. The club embraced him for 21 years and contributed to shaping him into the legend he is today. For this reason, it's not surprising that the Argentine star has donated his eighth Ballon d'Or to be exhibited in the museum of the Catalan club.
The current captain of the world champion national team, Messi, didn't want the incredible collection of seven Ballon d'Or trophies to remain incomplete in Barcelona's museum, and wished for it to be displayed there as well, despite having earned it while playing for another club.
