Martín Demichelis is the New Head Coach of Rayados de Monterrey
The Monterrey Football Club has announced the hiring of Martín Demichelis as their new head coach. Following the departure of Fernando Ortiz, the Rayados' management secured the former River Plate coach, who signed a two-year contract with the club.
Demichelis arrives in Monterrey after a successful stint at River Plate, where he showcased his tactical prowess by winning three major titles in 2023: the Liga Profesional, the Trofeo de Campeones, and the Supercopa Argentina.
His coaching staff for this new adventure includes trusted figures like Germán Lux and Sebastián Grazzini, who will serve as his assistants, just as they did during his time at River Plate.
Lux, with experience as a goalkeeper in Europe, joined Demichelis on the sidelines at the Argentine club, while Grazzini, a former coach at Racing, brings his expertise to the team. To keep Rayados' players in top physical condition, Demichelis has enlisted Flavio Pérez, who previously worked with him at River Plate, and Diego Mirabelli, who is joining the Argentine coach's team for the first time.
Additionally, the goalkeepers' specific training will be overseen by Alejandro Saccone, who was also part of his coaching staff at River Plate. Before his time at River Plate, Demichelis, a former Málaga player in La Liga, gained coaching experience with the youth teams of Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga. His tenure at the Argentine club in 2023, where he led the team until July of this year, solidified his reputation as one of the most promising coaches in modern football.
