Karim Adeyemi to Miss Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund Match
Karim Adeyemi will be sidelined for a month and a half due to a muscle injury sustained on Tuesday against Celtic Glasgow in the Champions League, meaning he will miss the upcoming match where his team, Borussia Dortmund, faces Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
As reported by the German team’s coach, Nuri Sahin, Adeyemi is expected to be “available again after the international break in November.”
Adeyemi, who was the standout player in the ‘Champions’ week after scoring three goals in just 45 minutes, suffered the injury early in the second half of the match played at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. He immediately clutched his right thigh, realizing the extent of the injury, which will cause him to miss upcoming fixtures, including the rematch of last season’s Champions League final against Real Madrid on October 22.
In the same match, Julien Duranville, the 18-year-old Belgian forward who replaced Adeyemi, also suffered an injury and will face a similar recovery timeline as his teammate.
“Julien felt something in his thigh while running. Unfortunately, he is also out. It’s bitter for him because he was on a very good path,” Sahin explained.
