The franchise, owned by former English footballer David Beckham, experienced a 74% increase in value since the arrival of the World Cup champion, making it the second-most valuable property in MLS, only behind LAFC (valued at $1.15 billion) and ahead of teams like LA Galaxy.

In addition to Messi, other former Barcelona players contributed to the team's growth, including Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and the recently acquired Luis Suárez. With this squad, led by coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino, they aim to clinch the title of the best MLS team in the upcoming 2024 season.
