Former Sheffield United Footballer Found Dead in Greece
English footballer George Baldock, who played for Greek club Panathinaikos, has been found dead at his home in Athens, according to the Greek broadcaster SKAI.
The lifeless body of the 31-year-old defender was discovered in the swimming pool at his house in the Glifada neighborhood of the Greek capital, as reported by the same source.
The cause of his death is still unknown, and there has been no official statement from the Greek club or his family at this time.
Born in Buckingham, England, Baldock was an international player for Greece, as one of his grandfathers was Greek, giving him the right to wear the national team’s jersey. He started his career in the lower leagues with Milton Keynes Dons and played for Sheffield United from 2017 until last May, when he signed with Panathinaikos.
