Dani Olmo Speeds Up Recovery, Eyes Key Clash Against Borussia Dortmund
There’s positive news for FC Barcelona as Dani Olmo has taken a major step forward in his recovery. The Spanish international partially rejoined group training this Thursday, just two weeks after suffering a myofascial injury in his right adductor during the LaLiga match against Osasuna on March 27.
Champions League Comeback in Sight
Although the initial prognosis suggested a three-week absence, Olmo’s early return to the pitch fuels optimism about his availability for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund, scheduled for Tuesday, April 15. The 4-0 win in the first leg puts Barça in a strong position, and Olmo’s return would further boost their chances.
However, sources inside the club indicate that Olmo will likely miss this Saturday’s LaLiga match against Leganés, as the medical team continues to assess his progress day by day.
Focus on the Copa del Rey Final
While the Champions League remains a top priority, Hansi Flick’s main objective is to have Olmo fully fit for the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on April 26 in Seville. The plan is to reintegrate him gradually, potentially giving him limited minutes either against Dortmund or Celta Vigo on April 19, to ensure peak form for the domestic final.
