Dani Olmo’s First Words as a Barcelona Player: "I Want to Win Everything"
Dani Olmo, Barcelona's new signing for the next six seasons, stated on Friday that the club's goal this season is to "win everything possible."
"We are Barça, and we always have to compete for everything. We have the players and the coaching staff, so let's go for it," Olmo declared in an interview with the club. He is the first signing of Barça under Hansi Flick, excluding the young Pau Víctor from Girona.
The midfielder, who joins from German side RB Leipzig and recently won the Euro 2024 with Spain, highlighted his "versatility, quality, and touch" as key attributes.
Olmo described returning to the club where he trained for seven seasons before moving to Dinamo Zagreb as "a dream come true," and expressed that he feels "prepared and eager to contribute and win."
"I’m very happy to come back home and to see my family and national team teammates. I’ve played with many Barça players and I’m looking forward to meeting others like Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski. There’s a lot of quality here and I can’t wait for everything to start," Olmo emphasized. He will wear the number 20 jersey.
Olmo admitted that the past few weeks "have been a bit intense" and that "everything has happened very quickly." "I’m grateful for life to Leipzig, and now a new chapter begins. It’s worth appreciating the effort Barça has made to bring me here," he added.
