Cristiano Ronaldo Has a Retirement Date in Mind
Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at the possibility of hanging up his boots in a recent interview, suggesting that his future might be tied to his current team, Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
The Portuguese superstar, known for his relentless drive and competitive spirit, mentioned that while he hasn’t set a definite date for retirement, it could happen in the next two or three years.
In the interview, Ronaldo was clear about his desire to keep competing, both at the club level and with the national team. However, he made it known that his decision to retire will be a personal one, and he won’t give any prior notice. "When I decide to leave the national team, I'll do it spontaneously but thoughtfully. There won't be any advance announcements," said the former Real Madrid and Juventus player.
Despite his undeniable success in football, Ronaldo ruled out the possibility of staying in the sport as a coach. "I don’t see myself managing a team; that’s not in my plans. My future lies in other areas outside of football, although time will tell what happens," the forward explained.
Cristiano, who’s had a strong start to the season with Al Nassr, emphasized his satisfaction with life in Saudi Arabia and his desire to keep playing in the country. "I'm happy here, both with the club and in the country. My intention is to continue and keep enjoying football," he said.
Lastly, the all-time top scorer in football history, with 898 career goals, assured that he’s still motivated to add to his tally, especially with the Portugal national team, where he’s been a key player for years. At 39, Ronaldo continues to show that his passion for football is far from fading, even though he knows the end of his career is getting closer.
