Courtois Launches His Own Racing Team
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has unveiled his own virtual racing team, named TC Esports, as part of his passion for esports—a hobby the Belgian footballer has nurtured for years. He announced the news through his account on the social media platform X.
This initiative complements the racing team Courtois introduced earlier this year to compete in the F4 Spain Championship.
"I’ve always wanted to have my own esports team because 'simracing' can open doors in the world of motorsport, and that's something we also want to invest in with TC Racing," the goalkeeper explained regarding his project focused on single-seater racing simulation.
Courtois has two simulators at his home, which he says he uses regularly "when football allows." "After participating in various competitions and 'simracing' events, esports caught my attention even more," he added, emphasizing his love for video game competitions.
Among the virtual racing events he has joined is one organized by Formula 1 during the pandemic, where participants competed alongside drivers like George Russell, Alex Albon, and Charles Leclerc.
The new project also features Spanish talent Javier Guerra, who helped the Williams F1 team establish itself in the world of esports.
