Breaking News on Neymar's Future: His Agent Speaks Out
Neymar's future continues to make headlines after reports of a possible move to Santos. However, it now seems to be off the table for good.
Neymar Jr. continues to dominate headlines, even as he recovers from a knee injury sustained in just his second match for Al-Hilal after a lengthy spell away from the pitch. This weekend, speculation in Brazil suggested a possible return to Santos, the club where Neymar first rose to stardom. However, his agent, Pini Zahavi, quickly put an end to the rumors.
“There are no ongoing conversations for Neymar to leave Al-Hilal. He has a valid contract and is very happy there,” Zahavi told journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Zahavi further emphasized that only he and Neymar’s father are authorized to discuss the player’s future. “I don’t know where these recent rumors are coming from,” he added.
The buzz around Neymar’s potential return to Brazil hasn’t been limited to Santos. Palmeiras, currently second in the Brasileirão, was also mentioned as a possible destination. Yet, Palmeiras president Leila Pereira dismissed the speculation with a pointed statement: “Palmeiras is not a medical department. I won’t allow a player signed by Palmeiras to be unable to play immediately.”
At 32, Neymar is under contract with Al-Hilal until June 30, 2025. The Saudi Pro League club secured his services in the summer of 2023 for a reported $96 million transfer fee from Paris Saint-Germain. Since joining, Neymar has managed only seven appearances due to his significant injury.
For now, it seems Neymar will remain with Al-Hilal, with his agent making it clear that there is no movement on the horizon regarding his immediate future.
