Besiktas Signs Ciro Immobile!
Besiktas, Turkey's third most successful club, announced this Saturday the signing of Italian striker Ciro Immobile, who played for Sevilla in 2016 and has since been part of Lazio's squad.
Immobile, 34, arrived Friday night on a private jet at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport, accompanied by several members of the Turkish club's management who had picked him up in Rome.
Already wearing Besiktas' black jersey with the number 17, he declared himself "very happy" and "ready to start the season."
Ciro Immobile has signed a two-year contract and will earn a guaranteed net salary of 6 million euros per season, the club clarified in a follow-up note hours later.
Besiktas finished sixth in the Turkish Super Lig this year, a disappointing result for a club accustomed to being among the top three and last winning the competition in 2021.
