Bellingham Leads England Squad to Face Brazil and Belgium
The Real Madrid player Jude Bellingham leads the list of call-ups for the England national team for the friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium.
Jude Bellingham, a player from Real Madrid, is the standout star in England's squad for the friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium. Also notable are the inclusions of Jarrad Branthwaite, Ivan Toney, and Anthony Gordon, as well as the absence of Kalvin Phillips.
England will face Brazil on March 23 at Wembley Stadium and, three days later, Belgium at the same venue.
Bellingham will arrive rested for the national team gathering after missing the last two league matches with Real Madrid due to suspension, including the game against Celta de Vigo last weekend and the one against Osasuna this Saturday.
Branthwaite, a 21-year-old center-back from Everton, and Gordon, a forward from Newcastle United, make their debut in the squad, while Toney returns to a call-up for the first time since his eight-month ban for breaking betting rules.
Phillips, a regular in Gareth Southgate's recent call-ups, has been left out despite moving to West Ham United to seek more playing time than he had at Manchester City. However, he has struggled to impress with the 'Hammers' and has not completed the full ninety minutes in any of the six games he has played with the London club.
Jordan Henderson is included in the squad after his move from Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia to Ajax Amsterdam in the winter transfer window.
The goalkeeping position has been another tricky issue, and Southgate has opted for Aaron Ramsdale, despite him being relegated to the role of substitute at Arsenal.
