21 Years Since Ronaldinho's Arrival at Barcelona
Twenty-one years ago, the history of Barcelona changed completely. Before Lionel Messi, there was Ronaldinho Gaucho, whose arrival at Barcelona in the summer of 2003 brought a smile back to the Blaugrana club.
Coming in as a replacement for David Beckham, who was the original target of then-president Joan Laporta, Ronaldinho joined the club after becoming a World Cup champion with Brazil in 2002 and having an impressive season with PSG.
During his time with the Catalan club, the Brazilian won two La Liga titles, one Champions League, two Spanish Super Cups, and the 2005 Ballon d'Or. The forward left in 2008 after five years of dazzling Camp Nou with his magic.
